Here at Girl Gang, we’re big fans of a good gal getaway. You’ve seen a Girl Gang Guide To Asheville, NYC and now this time, Chattanooga, TN! We wanted a weekend getaway that wasn’t too far, so Chattanooga was the perfect place since it’s only about an hour and 45 minutes from ATL. Read on to see our Girl Gang Guide To Chattanooga and find out where to stay, eat, drink + explore.

Where to stay: The Bode

Want to feel like a local even in a new city? Then you’ll most definitely want to book your stay at the Bode. The Bode started in Nashville and has now expanded to Chattanooga – with a number of locations on the way! From the moment we walked in, it truly felt like home. The Bode is not your average hotel. The cool thing about it is that it caters to group travels. We stayed in what felt like a 3-bedroom apartment equipped with a full kitchen, living room, and even a ping pong table. Yes, a full-on ping pong table! Needless to say, we had a BLAST in this space and didn’t want to leave! So much so, we chose to stay in Saturday morning and create our own insta-worthy brunch-in-bed spread. We grabbed a half-dozen from the famous Julie Darling Donuts, whipped up some eggs, and poured a few mimosas, of course!

The Hub In Bode

Did we mention the “lobby” at the Bode is an uber-trendy bar/cafe? Yep, The Hub is the place to be. Start your happy hour outright in the comfort of your own hotel! We started our night here with a glass of rosé + board games and our mornings with an iced latte.

On our first night there, we continued our happy hour and walked right across the street to the cutest Italian spot Alimentari Cucina + Bar for an Aperol Spritz and the most delicious charcuterie board. This place is conveniently located in a strip of restaurants and cafes that are all within walking distance to the Bode! There was even a Green Market going on Saturday morning with live music + local eats and drinks which was super cool to see.

Where To Eat

Hi-Fi Clydes | Following our HH, we ventured to Hi-Fi Clydes for a chill dinner with a side of live music! The perfect spot to transition into your night out.

Julie Darling Donuts | Sweet tooth? You’ll want to take a bite into a famous Julies donut. Our fave: the maple glazed.

Alleia | Great pizza + pasta, great cocktails, and great service. What more could you ask for? Tip: If you didn’t make a reservation, there’s a first-come, first-serve bar area with the full menu available!

Clumpies Ice Cream | Another Chattanooga classic! A sunny day always calls for an ice cream cone. Squeeze this one in while shopping around Frazier Ave or after your walk through Coolidge Park.

Flying Squirrel | Chicken biscuit and a mimosa, please! The perfect Sunday boozy brunch spot with live music upstairs.

Where To Drink and Explore

Walnut Street Bridge | Must-walk in Chattanooga! If you’re staying at the Bode, we’d suggest taking an Uber or Lyft over the bridge to Frazier Ave to grab a Julie’s donut, shop around and grab an ice cream cone at Clumpies. From there, you can jump on the bridge and walk back over to the other side of the city.

Whiskey Thief | As you finish walking the bridge, you’ll stumble upon the dreamiest rooftop bar with the most beautiful view of the city! Highly recommend treating yourself to a cocktail or two, while taking in the scenery.

Stir | Good ole (trendy) cocktail bar on Market St. Perfect place to start your night out! Definitely don’t leave without stumbling into the other spots along the strip.

London Calling | Want to feel like a Londoner in Chattanooga? Come to this London speakeasy. It’s a super fun, yet chill spot with a British theme. Enter through the bright red phone booth and in true speakeasy fashion, dial in the code (hint on the phone booth) to get in!

Blumenwagen | These days, it’s not a girl’s trip without a flower truck sighting! We spotted this one outside of the Flying Squirrel. The cutest little red flower truck.

There you have it, ladies

Our Girl Gang Guide to Chattanooga. Without a doubt, we had the best girl’s getaway, thanks to the Bode! Where to next, ladies?!
